Kid-Friendly Dinner Meal Plan

January 25, 2020 by Alisha Hughes 1 Comment

Today’s new meal plan (using old MPM faves) was designed with parents in mind…and adults who still enjoy eating like a kid from time to time. (That’s all of us, right?)

I had a little help with this one.

My daughter helped me pick out the recipes for this meal plan. We tried to think of the recipes that the kids in our family love to eat and ones that we thought most other kids would enjoy too. Hot dogs, burgers, fish sticks, and barbecue chicken are on the menu this week.

We eat what we like.

My daughter did have one suggestion that she thought I should mention on here. She said that some kids might not like the “chili cheese” part of the “Chili Cheese Pigs in a Blanket.” She thought that parents may want to ask their kids if they want the chili part left out before they make them.

I thought she made a very good point. (I think she was speaking from experience, actually…LOL!) Each of these recipes can be tailored to fit how your family loves to eat. For instance, the burgers are plain, but you could make them cheeseburgers and add ketchup, and the BLT sandwiches are one of my personal faves, but if your child doesn’t like bacon, you can swap it out for turkey lunch meat. Can’t find the alphabet pasta? Consider using egg noodles instead. You get the idea. Make it work for you.

Plus, I have a bonus recipe in this meal plan!

Okay, so I never do this, but I decided to add a healthy dessert to this meal plan! My kids absolutely love chocolate covered anything, so I figured your kids might too. How do Dark Chocolate Covered Banana Bites sound? Great, right? Perfect! Let me show you what else we have for you this week…
