Toddler Snack Idea: Peanut Butter Play-dough

July 12, 2010 by mealplanningmommies 2 Comments

After all the times we have told our kids to not eat their play-dough, we are going back on our word. This Play dough is an edible snack and craft rolled into one. It smells delicious, is easy to mold into shapes and the kids love that they can actually make a play dough “pancake” and eat it too!

There are lots of recipes out there, but here is the one that I used:

1 cup peanut butter, 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup of honey. *Kitchen tip: If you lightly grease your measuring cup before putting in the honey, it will pour out easier!

Mix all together and have fun! You can store this in a plastic baggie or container.
Here is the playdough all mixed up:

Here are a few pictures of my kiddos having fun! We used raisins to make little faces on the playdough and forks to poke holes and of course- little fingers to make imprints!

    Hey Sarah!

Do you remember the texture of the dough? is it terribly sticky with the honey? Thinking about making this recipe! It looks like the girls loved it though, I’m excited to give it a try! I tried another one with just pb, sugar and marshmallow, but it got too stiff to really play with. Thanks in advance! Love the site!! .

      Hey Kady!

We love this recipe. It really isn’t too sticky or too stiff. It seemed to be the right consistency for rolling out over and over again. The girls still ask to make this recipe! When we are done with it, I stick it in a ziploc bag and they can play with it for a few days before I deem it too “yucky” to keep and we throw the rest out! Hope the twins enjoy it! Send me some pics if you end up trying it out!
