Bonus Recipe: Sausage Dip

February 13, 2010 by mealplanningmommies 5 Comments

This is a fantastic dip recipe I got from my friend, Jen Tolbert. I use it all the time and people rave over it! I like it because it is a change from the typical: velveeta and rotel (which I like too!).

Try this on your family one night, for your next potluck or for a big game!

You won’t be disappointed!

Here is what you need:

2 packs cream cheese, 1 can Rotel, 1lb browned sausage and tortilla chips

Step 1: Add cream cheese and Rotel to Crock Pot

Step 2: Add browned Sausage, stir.

Step 3: Cook on low until melted and warm

Step 4: Serve with Tortilla chips and enjoy!!!!

Do you have a favorite “go to” dip?

Leave a comment and share your recipe with all of us!

Could you use any kind of ground meat? We really only use ground turkey so I am wondering if that would work.

    OH yum!!

    Our fave is wing dip

    8-12 oz cream cheese
    3 chicken breasts
    1.5 C mozzarella
    wing sauce
    Ranch
    Tortilla chips

8×8 pan, layer cream cheese. Combine cooked and shredded chicken (I chop with my pampered chef chopper so it’s super fine)with 1 cup moz and wing sauce (half a jar or so depending on what you use. We like Hooters Medium). Pour over cream cheese, cover with a layer of Ranch and more moz.

Bake at 350 until bubbly (about 15 mins)

The amounts are approximates b/c I don’t measure. It’s fabulous though!

I think that ground turkey will work fine. The sausage adds a nice spicy kick, but the Rotel adds a kick to it as well.

Let us know if you try it and how it turns out!

My favorite dip is to spread a block of softened cream cheese in the bottom of a pie plate. Top it with a can of chili con carne (these ALWAYS seem to be on sale at the store and it’s one of the only things I know what to do with it), then a 1 c. salsa and finish off with shredded cheese. Bake in the oven til warm and bubbly. YUM!
