April Fool’s Day Prank Foods

March 29, 2015 by mealplanningmommies Leave a Comment

april fools day collage purple backgroundThere are so many fun April Fool’s Day foods out there. With April Fool’s day right around the corner, we would have to plan in these special recipes now to have them ready on April 1 so I wanted to post these today. Here are just a few of my favorites ideas:

1. My personal favorite is the Hot Diggity Dog! A “hot dog” made using a twinkie and a tootsie roll. You can find this one at the Seven Year Cottage.

2. Hot dogs will make your kids thirsty. How about serving your hotdog with some “juice”? Jello makes a perfect April Fool’s “drink”. I love how easy this one is.

3. After the hot dog you can serve your family dessert. How about a mashed potato ice cream sundae? You can find this recipe at Bake at 350.

4. If you are looking for something for breakfast here is a fun prank idea that just uses cereal and milk. You can see more on this one at Clean and Scentsible. cereal

Hope you and your family have some fun with these. If you have another day drop us a comment and tell us what it is. You can link to your website in the comments if you would like.

*****Update: Since posting this I was so curious if the twinkie hot dog would really look like a hot dog, so you know what I did? I bought the ingredients to try it out!! The verdict: It TOTALLY looks like a mini hot dog!!! I was so impressed. My amateur picture isn’t as impressive as the one pictured above, but I wanted to show you anyway so you could see what it looks like when a “normal” mom tries to do it. I am definitely doing this one for my kids on April 1. I just know they will love it. ******
