Baked Potato Bar

May 5, 2015 by Sarah Anne

Who doesn’t love a quick, easy and frugal dinner? One thing I love about a baked potato bar is that it is naturally gluten free! No need to figure out gluten free substitutions or worry about things hiding in ingredients. As long as you keep your toppings natural, you will be good to go!

I don’t have pictures for this meal. Sadness. We had a baked potato bar recently with some good friends of ours. I was having so much fun having them over that I forgot to take pictures! So just imagine with me what my baked potato looked like… Yum!

How to Bake a Potato:

You can bake potatoes in the Microwave (pierce with fork, 5 minutes for 1 potato or 3 minutes per additional potato)

In the oven (350 for 60-75 minutes)

Or even the crockpot (wrapped in foil and on low for 8 hours- Check out Monica’s great post!)

Toppings:

Once your potatoes are cooked, time to add the toppings! Toppings are as endless as they come. I tend to top potatoes with whatever I have left in my fridge. This can include:

Butter

Sour Cream

Green Onion

Salsa

Broccoli

Olives

Bacon

Taco Meat

Lunch Meat

Hamburger

Leftover Pork or Beef

Leftover Chili

Really…. toppings are ENDLESS! If you have ever been to a McAllister’s Deli, then you know what I mean! Just check out their baked potato menu for some other great ideas!!!

Remember, mom… this is Take it Easy Week! Pair your baked potato with a Cesar Salad and call it done!

Blessings!
