Pinterest Fail or Win? Greek Yogurt Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

August 25, 2015 by Sarah Anne Leave a Comment

Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt CollageIf you are like me, you don’t like wasting your time, money or ingredients on recipes that FAIL. The lure of Pinterest and those amazing foodie photos has often left me wondering… I wonder if this recipe is really good or the photo is just really good? Anyone else with me?

I would like to start a new series called “Pinterest FAIL or Win?”  I will be picking recipes that show up in my Pinterest feed over and over again by multiple users. I will test them out for YOU and let you know if it’s worth the time, money and ingredients.

I hope that together, we can help each other avoid the Pinterest fails and make only the recipes that actually work!

First up….

This has rave reviews of people saying it tastes just like cookie dough! That it will satisfy a sweet tooth and a great substitute for ice cream. This has been on my radar for awhile to try. Here is the list of ingredients:

greek yogurt cookie dough ingredients

I read through several pinterest recipes and ended up taste testing and changing the ingredients a bit. Most people used the single serving greek yogurt cups, but all I had on hand was the full size plain greek yogurt.

This is a super easy recipe.

Just put all the ingredients into a small bowl, mix by hand and eat with a spoon or apples.

So are you ready to hear if this was a Pinterest FAIL or WIN?

Drumroll please……………………………………………………………………………

The texture stays similar to a greek yogurt texture so don’t go into it thinking it will be a cookie dough texture. It’s not, at all. It does have the flavor of a peanut butter cookie though! Plus… it’s pretty healthy especially if you use 85% dark chocolate for your chocolate chips and use as little honey as you need. I actually made some for breakfast today- minus the chocolate.

My husband thought it tasted a bit like “sour peanut butter”and he is a big peanut butter fan. So if you are a big peanut butter fan- you may need to add more peanut butter to your liking!

I think tomorrow I will make some and freeze it. Maybe into little bite sized drops. Yum!
