20+ Cereals that are low in Weight Watchers Freestyle Smart Points

CEREALS THAT ARE LOW IN
WW FREESTYLE SMART POINTS.

Whether you are looking for a quick afternoon snack or an easy breakfast idea, this list will help you navigate that long cereal aisle. All of the cereals on this list are 4 Smart points or lower per serving. (None of these smart point totals include milk.)

At first glance, it can be hard to know which cereals are going to be low in smart points. You can go down the aisle and pick up every box of cereal and scan the bar code to find the smart points, but who has time for that? Here are a couple of cereals that are higher in WW smart points than you might think, and a cereal to swap it out with. . .

A couple of cereals that might surprise you.

EXAMPLE ONE: Cascadian Farm cereal
for those who are looking for organic cereal.

Cascadian Farm Cinnamon Raisin Granola cereal is 13 smart points for one cup and
Cascadian Farm Purely O’s cereal is just 3 smart points!

cascadianfarmcereal-vsEXAMPLE TWO: Vanilla Almond Cereal

Aldi’s brand, “Fit & Active Vitality Cereal” is 4 smart points for 3/4 cup.
“Wild Harvest Natural Crunchy Vanilla Almond Granola Cereal” is more than double that with 9 smart points per 3/4 cup serving!

Whether you are snacking in the middle of the day or looking for a quick breakfast idea, here are over 20 cereals to consider that are low in Weight Watchers smart points:

Over 20 WW friendly cereals that are 4 WW FreeStyle SmartPoints or lower per serving. Meal Planning Mommies.

List of cereals that are between
1-4 Weight Watcher smart points per serving.

Arrowhead Mills Organic Puffed Kamut
1 SP per one cup!

(This is the lowest smart point cereal that I know of. I have not eaten it and, therefore, cannot attest
to its taste, but I thought it was worth starting with because it is healthy and WAY low in smart points.)

They have this cereal in Maryland. I was there last year and my Mom had some. When I scanned it and it said 1 smart point I was sold. You have to acquire the taste but it was worth it to have cereal. She mailed me some for Christmas in Texas. What I liked was the Weight Watchers cereal with cherries and almonds. Can’t find it anywhere.

I use this one too! It’s the lowest that I know of. I use a cup of it with sliced banana. I sometimes sprinkle some Kashi golean on top for another point.

I’ve discovered milk, yes milk, not almond and not rice and packed with protein. It’s Kroger’s brands CarbMasters original which is low in sugar and carbs and 1 SP for 8 ounces!!! I’ve already had several friends switch and love it. No matter how much I try to like rice or almond milk I just can’t. This is one of my happiness discovers and I can enjoy cereal again on WW.

Hello, I really like your post as weightwatchers smart points can be tough on cereal lovers.
However I double-checked and the frosted mini wheats are 7SP per serving of 3/4 cup (or 21 biscuits). I don’t know if they changed the recipe or if you had a magic way to make them be half the points… they are the favorite of my boyfriend, so I would be interested in a 3 SP version 😉

Hmm… Interesting. On my app “mini wheats frosted cereal, bite size” says it is 3 WW SP for 3/4 cup. The original size that says, “Frosted Mini Wheats Original Lightly Sweetened whole grain cereal” on the app says they are 5 WW SP for 3/4 cup or 7 WW SP for 1 cup. All I can think is that maybe you are looking at the regular size and I am looking at the bite size cereal?

I am wondering the same. When you look at the nutrition label of the picture you have posted about the frosted mini wheats bite size, it does says 7 points. I typed it into the calculator on the WW app and it came up with that and i scanned the barcode as well so I am not sure what is going on. Was hoping these would be 3 points and be my go to snack!! Hoping my calculator is just broken lol 😉

Hi Natalie, I checked my store for the bite-size mini wheats today and I could not find them. I decided to change the list for this one because I felt like it was confusing. For one thing, it is easier to measure most cereals in cups but with this particular cereal it is easier to count the “biscuits”. For another, I think most people will have an easier time finding the mini wheats that aren’t “bite size” in their stores. Using the regular Frosted mini wheats, 11 biscuits are 3 WW SP and 12-14 biscuits is 4 WW SP, so I changed the list to say that 14 biscuits is 4 WW SP. Thanks for bringing this one back to my attention so I can make the list more accurate and more user-friendly. I appreciate it. 🙂

This isn’t exactly cereal, but I like the Quaker Original Instant Oatmeal 3 WW SP and add PB2 chocolate powdered peanut butter 1 WW SP & 1 packet of stevia. It tastes like a no bake cookie!

Silver Palate/Grain Berry Original Toasted Oats w/Onyx Sorghum Whole Grain Cereal is 3 (freestyle) points for 1 cup – and has 4 g of fiber and just 1 g of sugar! (I think the “honey” one is 4 points.) I have it often for breakfast w/1 cup unsweetened almond milk (1 point), and I add berries or a banana and some Splenda or stevia – for a total of 4 points. Yum!
