Our family is on a roadschool camping trip.
Camping can be hard when you are gluten free because you can’t have a lot of prepackaged easy to fix foods.
Simple is key.
Last night we had smores and instead of getting gluten free graham crackers I layered chocolate, then peanut butter and then a toasted marshmallow and ate it more like an appetizer. It was Devine. I will try to get a picture tonight to show you!
For breakfast today- I brought gluten free corn chex, milk and honey to put on top. I also premade the amazing peanut butter Greek yogurt and put it in my cooler.
For lunch we are currently making hot dogs and chili.
I bought a can of Annie’s chili, put it in a pan and put it over the fire. It should be pretty tasty over my hot dog! I didn’t buy gluten free buns, but will instead it mine with a fork. Simple.
Kitchen food/supply storage can make camping life easier.
I use one tub for supplies.
One tub for dry food.
Pack a cooler with food and larger drinks.
Gallons of water for cleaning, morning hot drinks and cooking. A bucket to use for cleaning hands, faces and dishes is also essential!
I use the trunk of the car as my “kitchen.”
Stay tuned…. Tonight is Dutch oven Mac and cheese!
