This simple chicken dinner gets a 10 out of 10 on the simplicity scale. Four ingredients and four minutes is all this one takes. It is also great because it can be made ahead of time and frozen, and then cooked in the crock-pot on the day you want to eat it. This is a super efficient chicken meal for those days when you just don’t have time to make dinner. I found this freezer friendly crock-pot meal at Over the Big Moon here.
I doubled this recipe and put it into two bags so I would have one meal for my family and one for a friend who just recently had a baby. As you can imagine, she was grateful to have a meal to pop in the crock-pot the week after she brought the baby home. If you have any friends who are pregnant consider giving them some freezer meals that they can pop in the oven or the crock-pot as a present. I promise they will appreciate it! Just a couple of ideas, if you are going to use freezer meals as gifts:
- Be sure to write the directions on the freezer bag, or casserole dish.
- If it needs to be thawed first, write that on the bag.
- Instead of using your own glass dish, or aluminum pan that they would have to return back to you, use a freezer bag or an aluminum disposable casserole dish that they can just toss out.
Just four ingredients:
- cream of chicken soup
- Italian seasoning packet
- Cream cheese
- chicken
Easy prep instruction: Plop all of the ingredients in a freezer bag. Really squish them all around until everything is mixed really good. Freeze until you are ready to cook the chicken.
When you are ready to cook the chicken: Cook in crock-pot on low heat for 4-6 hours.
Can it be any easier? No. It can not. 🙂

We served ours with egg noodles and broccoli. I used the extra white sauce to pour over the noodles and the broccoli. You might also consider adding mushrooms to the bag of ingredients, and serving it with rice instead of noodles.
