Tortillas low in WW points updated in 2023

What flour tortillas are low WW Points?

Are you asking yourself that question? I have tons of times, but I didn’t want to go through the trouble to find the answer…until now…

As I tried to make recipes more WW friendly for my meal plans, I used to try to steer away from using tortillas, because if you use the wrong tortilla, it can sometimes mean doubling or tripling the number of Points for a recipe. Depending on the brand, size, and ingredients used, one tortilla can be anywhere from 1 WW Point to 12 WW Points. Because I didn’t want to suggest a tortilla that most people could not purchase, I just shied away from them to be safe.

The problem is I really wanted to share a smothered chicken burrito recipe with you, so I had to get over it and nail down some tortillas I can suggest…and that is where this list comes in…

Which flour tortilla brand, and make, is THE LOWEST in WW Points?

There are a couple of things that make it tricky to know which tortillas are best to use when it comes to Weight Watchers Points:

1. The size of the tortillas. It can be hard to know if a tortilla is small, medium, large, 6″, 7″, 8″, 10″, 12″, soft taco, fajita, or burrito size. In the WW app, it could say “small tortilla” or “8 inch” tortilla, and on the package it could say, “fajita size.” Unless you bring a ruler to the store, it can be hard to know what is what.

2. The brand of the tortillas. Most stores only carry a couple of different brands of tortillas, so just because a recipe tells you to use a “La Tortilla Factory” tortilla, it doesn’t mean you will be able to find the La Tortilla Factory brand of tortillas in your grocery store.

3. Not all types of tortillas, or sizes, are on the WW app. Besides being hard to know what size the app is referring to sometimes, many tortilla types just aren’t on the app at all, so you would either have to scan each package in the store or enter in the nutrition facts for each one. I have personally gone online to find the nutrition facts and plugged the nutrition facts into the WW app to figure out which ones are low in Smart Points, so I could give a thorough list.

4. Most stores only carry a couple of brands of tortillas. There are so many other options for tortillas out there, but unlike the bread aisle, most stores do not have an entire aisle devoted to tortillas. Since all stores don’t carry the same brands of tortillas, I thought it might be helpful to list off a bunch of different brands as well as their lowest Smart Point options. That means you can find what brand your store carries on this list and then just find one of the ones suggested for that brand.

Having mentioned all those things, there is one winner that has risen to the top of this list…

… And the winner is …

Olé Xtreme Wellness High Fiber Low Carb 8 inch Wraps!

Reasons why I believe these are the best ones on this list:

  1. They are 1 WW Point each. (These tortillas are one of the lowest in Smart Points on the list)
  2. They are 8 inches (many 1 Point tortillas are 6 inches… even smaller sometimes)
  3. They are highly rated (With 986 customer reviews these tortillas have a 4.8 star rating on Amazon.)
  4. Great price when bought online. (Some of the tortillas in this list can be quite pricey when you buy them on Amazon, but these are a great deal… at least at the time of me making this list. As of right now, you can get 6 (8 count) packs for just $26.00… plus shipping.)
  5. They freeze and thaw well. (This matters when you are buying them online and and getting 48 at a time)
  6. They are soft and fold over without tearing.
  7. Fiber count is very high and calories are very low. (11 grams of fiber and just 50 calories each… Your body will LOVE these!)
  8. They taste good.

The good news…

The nice thing about flour tortillas, unlike the low Point bread options, is that many of these tortillas can be bought on Amazon, so even if your store does not carry any of the tortillas listed below, you still have a way to purchase them!

I am including Amazon links for the tortillas on this list that are sold on Amazon. For the ones that aren’t on Amazon, I am linking to the product on the brand’s webpage so you can see what the packages look like. I am hoping this will help if you aren’t sure what size to look for.

One more thing before we hit the list…

Where do you find low Point tortillas in most grocery stores?

Many stores carry their tortillas in one (or more) of three places in their stores… in the bakery/deli area, in the health food aisle, or in the aisle with the Mexican/Ethnic foods. My store carries tortillas on an end cap close to the aisle with Mexican foods. Of course, you can always skip the hunt and just ask a worker when you go to the store. 🙂

FlatOut Flatbread Wraps – light original*

1 Flatbread = 2 WW Points
2 Flatbreads = 4 WW Points

(FlatOut Wraps are some of the most popular on this list in the WW community. Besides being low in Points, they are larger than a typical tortilla.)

Mission Carb Balance Small Fajita Tortillas*

1 tortilla = 1 WW Points
2 tortillas = 3 WW Points

Mission also makes other kinds of tortillas besides just the Carb Balance tortillas mentioned above, including the following:

  • Mission Carb Balance Wheat soft taco* (1=2 Points or 2=4 Points)
  • Mission Carb Balance Whole Wheat Street Tacos* (1=1 Points or 2=2 Points)

(These taste fantastic. I don’t notice a difference between Mission’s “Carb Balance” version and any other traditional tortilla.)

    Yes…..I have found Joseph’s Pita Bread (they have a 6 count at Walmart)….but also have a 10 count pkg at BJ’s (if you belong there)…… 1 WW SP for 1 — not sure for 2 of them….. and I roll up lunch meat (for an additional 1 SP) and lunch (along with fruit is ONLY 2 SP!!!

    Hi Alisha,
    Thank you so much for taking the time to make this list!
    After I printed out your lists for hamburger and hot dog rolls/buns and bread, I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if there were also a list for tortillas and wraps?” And then before you know it, you made one!
    I know it must’ve taken a bit of time – like you said, there are so many different sizes, etc. I appreciate all your hard work.
    (As a PS comment to your cereal list…I tried the puffed Kamut…1 point for a whole cup. It kind of tastes like what you’d expect for 1 point for a whole cup – LOL! Kind of bland and healthy! 😉 ) But it is good to keep around the house for when you’re having a “points emergency” of some sort. You can fill up a whole bowl and only use up that one point. I should’ve tried mixing it with another cereal; maybe next time.)

    I don’t care for any of these low point tortillas. They aren’t like a real flour tortilla. It’s simple enough to just save your points for the real ones Plenty of 0 point options to eat throughout the day to be able to enjoy a real taco.

    The low carb flour ones in soft taco size from La Tortilla Factory are also very much like a “real tortilla”. They’re my favorite. 2 SP for 1, 4 SP for 2.

    I’m not even sure what a real tortilla should taste like, but I do know that I can make a pretty big and satisfying shrimp quesadilla using two of the Ole Extreme shells and an ounce of low fat Cabot’s and the same amount of Asiago with some scallions and some salsa, for a total of 7 points. I’m not crazy about sour cream, so I don’t use that.

      There are several different kinds of Ole Tortillas and only one kind is 1 WW SP, as far as I understand. You may be looking at a different flavor or size?

    I stumbled upon your site because I’m trying to figure out how a regular Ole soft taco tortilla (45g) with 140 calories, 4g fat, 3g protein, and just 1g fiber is equivalent (2 pts) to a Mission Carb Balance Whole Wheat tortilla (43g) which is just 70 calories, 3.5g fat, 5g protein, and a whopping 15g of fiber! There’s no way these foods are nutritionally comparable! WW is really confusing me on how points are calculated.
