Ham and Cheese Sliders

April 29, 2015 by mealplanningmommies Leave a Comment

I was looking for good freezer meals for my parents since they were watching our children for a couple of nights this week while my husband and I went to a two-day conference. In my search for easy recipes while my parents were watching our kids I stumbled on this recipe and I knew right away I wanted to make them.

My friend made similar sandwiches for our small group a while back and we loved them. My parents loved them as well! I found the recipe on the Thriving Home website, but I think this recipe is all over the internet so I am not really sure who gets the credit for this one. Either way, thank you Thriving Home for posting a great recipe.

These sandwiches make for a great lunch, snack, or dinner. They also happens to be a very simple make-ahead-and- freeze recipe. Your kids will love these.

Here is what you will need:

ingredients to ham and cheese slider

12-16 dinner rolls
Sliced Ham
Slice Swiss cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 Tbsp mustard
1 Tbsp Worcestershire
1 Tbsp poppy seeds
1/3 cup brown sugar

Here is what you do:

Preheat oven 350.
Assemble the sandwiches in a casserole dish. Squeeze them in side by side.

Mix butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds and brown sugar into medium sauce pan.
On medium-high heat, bring sauce to a boil and then reduce heat.
Lightly drizzle each sandwich with the prepared sauce.

At this point you could cover the assembled rolls up and freeze them for later use. Just let them thaw out completely before cooking.

When ready to cook, cover with foil and bake for about 20 minutes.

I don’t have any “after they are cooked” pictures, as I was not home when my mom heated them up, but you get the idea… THESE ARE YUMMY!
