15 WW Summer Salads and Sides Perfect for a Cookout

June 6, 2017 by Alisha Hughes 5 Comments

15 Summer Sides and Salads with Weight Watcher smart points

The other day, I shared some grilling recipes that we love. Where we live, the weather is perfect for grilling and cookouts right now.

My good friend, Sarah (who used to do the MPM blog with me), called me up last week, and she said, “Alisha, I have an idea for the blog.” (Sarah’s ideas and suggestions are always welcome!)  She said that she would be doing some cookouts this summer, and she was looking for some summer sides and salads that she could bring to some of her cookouts. Sarah suggested that I do a link up post with side dish recipes to put in your back pocket for this summer.

Are you looking for some awesome summer side dishes?

Many of our MPM readers will be grilling out and going to parties where they will be asked to bring side dishes this summer. This link-up post is for all those party animals!

Some of the recipe suggestions below are my personal favorites. Everyone loves our famous deviled eggs, so I make and take them almost every time I am asked to bring a side dish somewhere. I also LOVE the Rainbow Bean & Rice Salad that I shared yesterday. It packs in lots of great stuff and tastes amazing, so I make it several times every summer. Also included in this list are some side dishes and salads from other sites that I thought would be fun to try out some day, but haven’t gotten around to yet.

If you want something super simple to prepare, you can skip down to the bottom of this list for the slow cooker corn on the cob. Gotta love the slow cooker!

LOTS MORE LIGHT AND HEALTHY SALADS.

Plus, for a bunch more light and healthy (and WW friendly) salads, go to our Meal Planning Mommies recipes/salads tab here.

It’s Grilling Inspiration Week on Meal Planning Mommies!

If you didn’t catch the main dish grilling recipes from a couple of days ago, you can check those out here.

There was a reader, many moons ago, who suggested that we do a meal plan that was strictly made up of grilling recipes. I wanted to do it, but the time didn’t seem right. Now seems like the perfect time. If you love using the grill, be sure to come back at the end of this week for a meal plan (with grocery list) using six of my favorite grilling recipes.

      Hi Judy,
Thank you. 🙂 You can print off Emily’s recipes by scrolling down to the bottom of her recipe posts where she has the condensed down version of the recipe in a recipe tool. In the right upper corner of the recipe “box” is a place to click “print” and a place to “share” the recipe on social media. When you click “print” it will open a page that shows the condensed down version with just one small picture of the recipe and a place to click, “click to print”. Hope this helps. 🙂
