Ingredients
Cooking spray
2strips bacon
1pound99% lean ground turkey
1pound95% lean ground beef
2eggs,lightly beaten
1onion,diced
4garlic cloves,minced
1/3cupbreadcrumbs
1/4cupreduced-fat shredded cheddar cheese
2tablespoonsgrated Parmesan cheese
2tablespoonsfresh parsley,snipped
1tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
1tablespoonlight mayonnaise
1tablespoonketchup
1teaspoonbasil
1teaspoonoregano
1/8teaspoonsalt
1/8teaspoonpepper
8light hot dog buns
Optional: toppings you enjoy on cheeseburgers(i.e. ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, etc.)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly spray a 9x13 inch baking sheet with cooking spray.
In a small sauté pan, cook the bacon until crispy, transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and pat off grease with the paper towel. Once bacon is cooled, crumble the bacon.
In a large bowl, combine bacon with the remaining ingredients, except for the buns.
Shape meat mixture into 24 balls that are about 3 tablespoons each, or approximately 1-1/2 to 2 inches in diameter.
Place meatballs on the cooking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Place three meatballs on each bun and top with favorite cheeseburger toppings (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, etc.)
